About
Nick Broomfield is the founder and Director of Devon Marine Electronics. Nick is a qualified electrical and electronic engineer with over 20 years experience in the electronics industry. He holds British Marine Federation BMET, MEI and AMEI qualifications. Nick started his engineering career designing electronic equipment before going on to manage his own successful business designing and manufacturing specialised electronic equipment for mission-critical applications in the radio broadcasting industry. Nick is a keen sailor himself, and when work permits, he enjoys sailing the south-west’s coastal waters. After university, Chris Mason spent several years working as a graphic designer before deciding to follow his long-standing passion for boats. In 2009, Chris transitioned into the marine industry, initially training and qualifying as a marine engineer. Over time, Chris developed a keen interest in electrical and electronic systems, leading him to specialise in that field in 2013. Chris spent the next ten years at Darthaven Marina, gaining extensive hands-on experience and deepening his expertise. In 2022, Chris took the next step in his career by teaming up with Nick at Devon Marine Electronics, where he continues to work with cutting edge marine electronics. Chris holds British Marine Federation BMET and MEI qualifications.
